Healthy Eating!
Our school meals haveimproved significantly over the years and the school has now decided, after consulting governors, to ensure that packed lunch children are eating more healthily. For this reason we ask that children no longer have the following in their packed lunch boxes; crisps, chocolates, sweets and fizzy drinks. See below for some practical ideas for healthier packed lunches. Together we can help to educate our children to manage their health in a balanced and sustainable manner. As always it is through working together that we will most positively set a good example for our children.
Parents Reading Session
Every Thursday morning from 9 am to 9.20 am we encourage all our parents of children in reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to come into class to read with their child. As you can see in our photos the children really appreciate parents coming in to read with them. It helps your child to enjoy books and to learn to read much more quickly. 'Please make an effort to come.'
Supporting Your Child in Maths
As part of our commitment to enhance the learning experience of your children Mrs Islam has recently delivered a session designed to ensure that parents are aware of the calculation strategies children are taught in class. The purpose of these sessions is to enrich the input parents have with their children's learning. To access the materials used in the sessions see below.
